Welcome, Overview and Competencies and Behaviors for Effective Advancement Leadership

What: 4-day Intensive Leadership Development Session
Objective: Welcome and become knowledgeable about Session I and beyond; learn important competencies for effective advancement leadership; 360 feedback and discussion; begin team projects, launch personal Leadership Development Action Plan and more


Intersession: Oct. - Jan.

Team Project and Leadership Development Action Plan

Where: Conducted remotely at home institutions
When: October through January
What: Fellows working together in teams on an intersession project; Fellows working independently and with ALA Advisor on Leadership Development Action Plans
Objective: Carry out a team projects that has practical relevance, addresses a solution to a modern advancement-related challenge, and that can be applied to Fellow home institutions; Fellows will also focus on creating and revising a Leadership Development Action Plan based on the results of their 360 Assessment

Objective
: Learn about administrative and practical considerations, including strategic planning, talent management, and organizational politics (including how to manage up, across and down); continue work on Leadership Development Action Plans and team projects


Intersession: Feb. - May

Team Projects and Leadership Development Action Plans

Where: Conducted remotely at home institutions
When: February through May
What: Team projects and Leadership Development Action Plans
Objective: Fellows will continue working in groups to finalize team projects; Fellows will also continue to work with ALA Advisor to refine and finalize their individual Leadership Development Action Plans


Session III: May

Career Development, Project Presentations, and Graduation Celebration (coincides with ALA Alumni Reunion)

What: 2-day Intensive Leadership Development Session
Objective: Fellows will participate in hands on interactive session and participate in discussions focused on career development and the future of the profession; Fellows will present team projects and conclude with a graduation celebration with other ALA Alumni
